About Us:
Bath Anaesthetic Group LLP has been providing high-quality anaesthetic services to the patients of Bath and the surrounding areas for more than 20 years. The friendly partnership consists of approximately 25 consultant anaesthetists who undertake work at independent hospital sites across Bath and Somerset.
The Role:
To work as part of a small administration team providing efficient, high-quality support to consultants and their teams. This would suit a dynamic and organised candidate with experience in this field.
The successful candidate would be expected to:
- Provide courteous and effective service to patients.
- Provide high quality efficient administrative support to the practice.
- Work closely with other administrators and health care professionals at the hospital sites to ensure excellent service.
- Demonstrate an ability to work in a self-directed fashion and prioritise their workload.
- Demonstrate excellent communication skills with patients, healthcare workers and consultants.
- The role is expected to have significant opportunities for flexible working and working from home.
Main duties and responsibilities:
- Scheduling work and managing the group’s commitments.
- Planning work and liaising with the local independent hospitals.
- Answering patient phone calls and emails and resolving or referring to their queries.
- Invoicing and dealing with private medical insurers.
- Data entry to practice management software and the group’s website (training provided).
- Dealing with clinical correspondence including typing and distributing patient letters.
Qualifications and Skills:
Essential:
- Good standard of numeracy and literacy.
- Proficient in computer skills including Word, Excel and email.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent interpersonal skills. Effective communication and maintenance of standards in potentially stressful situations.
- Excellent organisational skills.
- Self-directed and able to prioritise.
- Flexible and adaptable.
- Good team player, able to delegate and work co-operatively.
- Honesty and discretion.
- Understand the importance of handling information confidentially and sensitively and adhering to data protection regulations.
Desirable:
- Knowledge of GDPR regulations.
- Knowledge of medical and surgical processes.
- Previous practice management/private practice secretarial role.
- Experience with DGL practice management software.
Location:
The successful candidate would work from home with occasional travel to hospital sites in and around Bath, BA2. Travel costs will be reimbursed.
Hours:
The role will be full-time Monday to Friday 37.5 hours/week to be worked flexibly.
Salary and Benefits:
Competitive salary is negotiable on the current level of experience. Range £24000 – £32000 per annum. Access to a pension scheme. Homeworking equipment, including laptop and telephone expenses. Successful candidates will be required to undergo an enhanced DBS check.
