EV Project Engineer – London, South East England

We are currently working with a leading environmental organization committed to using innovative ways to help meet the businesses’ carbon reduction and clean air targets, moving away from diesel and petrol vehicles and deploying electric vehicles. They are looking for an EV project engineer to join their EV team based out of their London office with blended-in home working.

The EV Project Engineer with being helping third-party suppliers with the feasibility, design, and delivery stages of commercial EV infrastructure projects. The key duties and responsibilities are as follows:

1. In the role you will be the reference point in the team for the design of charging infrastructure solutions the organization is carrying out.

2. As part of the role you will reviewing submissions to ensure project delivery quality (Single Line Diagrams, Cable schedules, protection reports, datasheets). Design solution in collaboration with our delivery partners

3. Some of the projects will be working with locations where electrical capacity is restricted so you will be assessing the power requirements for EV charging infrastructure and design the best power supply solutions for our projects (capacity upgrade, private wire, batteries, on-site generation, etc.). Liaise with the Distribution Network Operators (DNO) when necessary from assessment stage to commissioning of the works.

4. You will also help support the team from a technical perspective on the delivery of innovative projects related to electrification: Vehicle to Grid, solar integration, energy storage – Keeping track of regulations for EV charging and power distribution.

ROLE REQUIREMENTS:

To be successful in your application to this exciting opportunity as the EV Project Engineer we are looking to identify the following on your profile and past history:

1. Relevant degree in an Electrical, Renewable Energy or similar field.

2. Proven industry knowledge in electric systems + single and three phase electricity

3. Technically astute with a genuine interest in technology, excellent verbal/ written communication skills with a liking to analytical and problem-solving skills to help with electrical design projects
