As a Warehouse & Distribution Technical Manager, you will be a vital member of our Product Integrity function, responsible for overseeing all technical aspects of the warehouse operations, ensuring we have the systems and processes in place to maintain product integrity and safety. Reporting directly to the Group Head of Product Integrity, you will play a crucial role in developing and implementing the systems and procedures aligned to the Holland & Barrett Global Standard for Warehouse & Distribution.
The Role:
Key Responsibilities:
Technical Oversight:
- Lead and manage the QA team, responsible for monitoring the quality and integrity of our products.
- Manage and maintain the HACCP, QMS, Internal Audit and Technical training systems in the Burton-Upon-Trent Distribution Centre, ensuring they are industry leading and align to the Holland & Barrett Global Standard for Warehouse & Distribution.
- Support our warehouse and distribution locations, both owned and contracted, across the globe to achieve our Global Standard and industry leading position.
Compliance:
- Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and standards governing chilled and ambient warehouse operations.
- Create and maintain strong relationships with primary and local authorities and accreditation bodies.
- Undertake as a minimum annual review of systems, processes, procedures and HACCP.
- Generate KPI reports to support due diligence and governance of systems in place at Burton-Upon-Trent Distribution Centre
Continuous Improvement:
- Manage and track continuous improvement plans in conjunction with the Fulfilment & Optimisation Planning Manager, reporting on progress at a minimum, quarterly.
- Identify opportunities and initiatives to drive continuous improvement across warehouse and distribution locations.
Training & Development:
- Build an ongoing working relationship with any external vendors/CMOs responsible for any H&B THR/medical devices products to ensure alignment with product specifications held on file at CMO and H&B and maintain this going forward.
- Working in conjunction with any third-party vendors to which regulatory affairs activities are outsourced in order to ensure that accurate copies of any information are correctly filed and stored at H&B and that the working relationship with the vendor going forward enables regulatory affairs activities to be handled in an efficient and expeditious fashion.
Team Management:
- Provide training and development opportunities for technical staff to enhance their skills and support their Personal Development Plans.
- Support the Campus Training Manager to ensure that all operations staff have adequate training in food safety and product integrity subjects.
- Foster a culture of continuous learning and improvement within the technical and wider cross functional teams.
- Conduct regular performance reviews and provide constructive feedback to the technical team to support professional development and growth.
Regulatory Intelligence:
- Stay abreast of evolving regulatory trends, guidelines, and best practices to drive proactive compliance to all relevant regulations and accreditation standards governing chilled and ambient warehouse operations.
- Share updates and insights with relevant stakeholders to inform strategic direction and decision-making.
Internal Collaboration:
- Build strong relationships and role model collaboration with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment on regulatory requirements and product compliance.
- Work as part of any regular quality review meetings set-up by Burton-Upon-Trent Distribution Centre Leadership Team in order to report and review compliance activities and procedural updates.
- Act as the key “go to” contact within the Holland & Barrett business who can provide efficient, accurate answers to queries on warehouse and distribution compliance
Location:
We are a fully hybrid organisation with bases in London, Nuneaton, and Burton. The candidate will be based in Burton-Upon-Trent and will travel to other locations as required by the accountabilities and requirements of the role.
The Person:
Key Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in a scientific discipline, pharmacy, or a related field.
- Minimum 5 years’ experience within the Technical and / or warehouse and distribution operations
- Experience and knowledge of regulatory and accreditation requirements related to chilled and ambient products and warehouse operations.
- Demonstrable leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
- Effective and positive communicator both verbal and written to colleagues at all levels.
- Interpersonal skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with internal stakeholders and regulatory authorities.
- Ability to work under pressure and adapt to changing priorities.
