We are working alongside one of the Audio Visual Sector’s most innovative and long standing developers and manufacturers as they seek to recruit an experienced Design Engineer – Applications Software for their creative team in Dartford, Kent. They have been a leading developer and manufacturer of professional AV system products for over 35 years, developing new products to integrate video and audio into presentation systems for today’s high tech boardrooms, presentation/training centers, university lecture halls, and other applications.

The company is currently expanding its UK operation designing video products for professional markets, creating an exciting opportunity to assist in the further development of state-of-the-art video display products. They are seeking motivated and creative engineers, keen to learn and contribute to the development of new products in high performance real time video processing and video networks.

Key responsibilities:

Design, develop, test, deploy, maintain and improve software.
Collaborate with engineering leads, product owners, UX/UI designers and firmware engineers to provide a consistent and predictive product.
Support of agile principles and values within and across the cross functional teams.
Provide valuable analysis on designs and application code.
Root cause analysis of issues found in the field.
Participate in SCRUM ceremonies
Author and maintain documentation of integration and unit tests

Qualified Candidates will have:

Minimum of 2 years programming experience gained in an engineering environment.
C# application development experience.
Excellent knowledge of Object Oriented design, SOLID and programming principles.
Knowledge of Microsoft Windows Operating system environment.
UK First Degree level (or equivalent) qualification in either software or other relevant subject.
Good communicator (written and verbal) able to work co-operatively in a team environment.
Experience in UI development using WPF.
Network programming (TCP/IP, UDP) is a plus.

At the moment, this role is remote-based, but we expect that employees will return to the office full-time sometimes in the future, so it’s important that the candidate can and is willing to commute on daily basis to the Dartford area. There’s no salary indication for this role – all candidates are free to put forward their expectations. Based on their skills and profiles, the client will make them an offer appropriate to their level.

The interview process would be set in two steps (1. one-hour telephone interview, 2. three-hour interview consisting of four parts).
