About the team
We are an established enthusiastic team that supports Securities Finance products. Each member works on a variety of support, analysis, and project-related tasks simultaneously, with production support being of primary importance.
What you will be doing
You will work at a FIS client managing their instance of a FIS Securities Lending application. For now, the position is split between working remotely from home, and at a client site in London, although this will be dependent on evolving government and client advice on working from home.
The position will involve:
- Providing first-line application support to the client in areas such as trade booking, lifecycle events and reporting and liaising with other FIS teams where necessary
- Supporting feeds to and from other client applications, including writing and maintaining automation scripts and schedules, and troubleshooting issues or outages
- Delivering client projects for new business requirements or application changes and upgrades
- Managing the application platform, including server patching, resolving vulnerabilities, building, and maintaining connectivity, configuring automation schedules and monitoring capacity
- Keeping the application within client IT risk controls, making changes to the environment where appropriate, and evidencing compliance
- Engaging with the client’s Agile working methodology, including daily stand-ups, and fortnightly planning and retrospectives
- Joining the overnight and bank holiday support rota and participating in occasional planned weekend releases
What you bring
- Extensive experience with Linux / Unix operating systems
- Extensive knowledge of bash, KSH, and Perl languages (any additional scripting languages is a bonus)
- A structured and methodical approach to problem investigation and resolution
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to work both individually and as part of a team
- Comfortable with multitasking and working under pressure
- Experience with DevOps responsibilities
- Experience with Git and CI / CD pipelines, especially Azure Dev Ops
- IT risk and vulnerabilities (such as Change Management, Platform Security, Operational Resilience etc)
Added bonus if you have experience with
- Red Hat Enterprise Linux administrator
- Citrix / Windows Server administrator
- Agile
- UniData / SB+
- Messaging and file transfer protocols (such as MQ / JMS / XFB)
- Securities lending business
- A background or significant interest in financial markets or technology
- Business Objects
