  • The Indian Minorities Foundation on Thursday adopted a London Resolution for the UK-based diaspora to contribute towards the progress of India, news agency PTI reported.
  • The ‘Namaste London: Resurgence of New India’ event, held at Sadhbhavna Event in the House of Commons complex, included the launch of ‘Igniting Collective Goodness: Mann Ki Baat@100’, which chronicles Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s dialogue session with India since October 2014.
  • The event was held as part of ‘Charting Goodwill: India’s Global Odyssey’, which marks the contributions of the Indian diaspora to their home countries, and also for playing a key role in shaping the global agenda.
  • It was coordinated by Indian Minorities Foundation convenor Satnam Singh Sandhu and Founder Professor Himani Sood.
  • “Prime Minister Modi has made this a central pillar of his global strategy, the outreach to the UK, the prioritization of the diaspora, the prioritization of partnerships with our siblings who live far away from us in India — that is all of you (the diaspora) — and the prioritization of development for every single Indian; to leave no single person behind and to reach out to every community from Kohima to Kutch, from Kashmir to Kanyakumari,” PTI quoted Indian High Commissioner to the UK Vikram Doraiswami as saying.
  • According to the Indian Minorities Foundation, the goodwill event aims to boost India’s cultural, literary, and political bonds across the globe and also help in nation-building.
  • Lauding the governance of PM Modi, Vijay Goel of the Indo-European Business Forum said through the motto of ‘Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas’, the country has seen a “paradigm shift” in the development and fostering corruption-free administration.
