Your Role
We are looking for someone with a well-rounded DevOps skillset to contribute to our cutting-edge cloud-native data analytics platform, adding value through their technical expertise and scripting prowess.
Primary Responsibilities
- Support development by creating and maintaining CI/CD pipelines, embedding directly within our diverse and multinational teams of developers.
- Utilise modern DevOps methodologies to build out our cloud solutions with the latest technologies design practices.
- Support the availability and maintenance of the platform, work to deploy new releases and support engagements across our client portfolio.
Additional responsibilities
- Contribute to our culture of continuous improvement by refining processes, making new automation, and empowering the staff around you.
- Engage with our support teams to provide 3rd/4th line support for the platform.
- Work closely with our other development staff to track bugs through to resolution.

Location: UK Wide
Work pattern: This is a permanent contract opportunity. The role can be worked on a full-time basis. Although we offer flexible working this position is aligned to our Cardiff office and will be expected to travel occasionally.
Your professional experience
Essential:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in computer science, engineering or related field
- Experience as a DevOps or systems administrator/analyst in a 24X7 uptime environment (Windows) with demonstrated ability to quickly achieve a working acumen of new technologies.
- Expert in software development life cycle, test-driven development, continuous integration and continuous delivery
- Experience in managing high availability, high performance, multi-data centre systems and hybrid cloud environments
- Must have experience in troubleshooting complex issues ranging from system resources to application stack traces
- Experience with Git version control systems
- Experience in development with scripting languages, preferably PowerShell
- Experience in building and deploying Azure or AWS services
Desirable:
- MS or higher in Computer Science
- Demonstrated competencies in system administration. DevOps or systems knowledge, security protocols for client/server environment. Experience working with cloud-based IaaS and PaaS solutions on a windows platform
- Open Source/Linux
- Experience with containerization and orchestration of web services.
- Experience supporting the following Datastores/Databases: MS-SQL Server, MySQL, MongoDB, PostgreSQL, Cassandra
- Hands-on experience working on Windows, and Linux distributions (CentOS and Ubuntu)
- Hands-on experience working in Agile and DevOps cultures and teams with a keen focus on process improvement and automation through internal and external collaboration.
- Hands-on experience with containers and container platforms such as Docker and Kubernetes.
- Hands-on experience with MS Azure technologies or equivalent, specifically ARM templates and deployment scripting.
- Hands-on CI/CD engineering experience working with scripting and building management tools for a variety of frameworks and technologies, including Angular, React, Java, C#/.NET, Bash, Groovy, Gradle, and Maven.
- Knowledge and experience with Hadoop, Databricks
