GSL education are working alongside an Ofsted Rated “Good” provision in Newcastle City and are recruiting for an exceptional Higher Level Teaching Assistant to work in a Post 16 setting . This is an unbelievable opportunity to gain on-the job Tutor/ mentor/teaching experience ! The ideal candidate will work as part of a friendly and supportive team within the classroom helping boost academic outcomes and motivate students . You will work alongside the wider team , identifying areas where students need to improve and will then assist in delivering sessions. These sessions may involve input with lesson planning but you will be mentored by a subject specialist . Students here access vocational subjects such as construction and land based studies and then study English as a mandatory requirement. The job requires commitment Monday – Friday and the working hours are 8:30am-4:30pm (TBC). This will be an immediate start and is Long term !
The position is a really interesting and varied role and we are looking for people with patience, kindness, tenacity and the ability to build rapport and create positive relationships with learners. This role has a strong chance of going permanent for the right candidates

Requirements

  • Be able to work effectively alongside teachers providing support for students
  • Confident delivering small and effective sessions
  • A passion for assisting young people
  • Great level of English , a passion for the subject
  • Enhanced DBS on the update service or the willingness to complete an application
  • Kindness, enthusiasm and proactivity with great organisational skills
  • Previous experience of working in schools
  • A relevant, recognizable qualification in childcare or education to a minimum of level 4
  • Confident , friendly and hardworking
