More about your role

As our Finance Graduate within the 2022 Emerging Talent Programme, you’ll join our Developments finance team. The two-year programme will support you to develop the core skills, behaviours and technical ability to develop into part qualified management account. You will have the opportunity to gain insight and get involved in a range of projects which include management accounts and reporting. You’ll be exposed to and be encouraged to contribute to work that drives forward our business objectives. You’ll join a Finance department with a People First approach and be comfortable interpreting and translating data to relay a core message to colleagues without a finance background.   This is a hybrid role with the expectation that the successful candidate will be at our Preston office two days a week.

More about you

You’ll be a recent graduate with a degree and an interest in starting a career in finance. Finance background isn’t essential as these skills and technical behaviours will be taught. You’ll also be supported to reach qualified status through the finance route of your choice. It’s essential you have an analytical and curious mind with a solution-focused outlook.  Having a commercial outlook and being highly motivated to succeed would set you apart from other candidates part. What’s next?

Hopefully what you’ve read here has got you excited and wanting to apply. The first step of the application process should take around 20 minutes. You’ll be asked to complete your personal details and academic history and provide us with some additional supporting information about you. Don’t worry you should know all of the answers. The next part of the application form is asking you to complete a few additional questions, these will ask you to consider your reason for applying, what you want out of the Emerging Talent programme and how you would address current societal issues. Take your time over these, your answers will be shared and may lead to additional questions throughout the application process.

Finally, you’ll be asked to upload a CV, this should include an overview of your work history so far, don’t forget to include any volunteering you’ve done. You will need to make sure this includes all of your academic achievements, from GCSE to your most recent qualifications. Once we’ve been able to review your application and CV, successful candidates will be sent invites to complete a video interview.   This gives you the opportunity to give us more information and offer insight into the person behind the CV.
