Position: Head of Production

Notes: The Head of Production may also be called Production Manager, Senior Production Manager or Production Director, Manufacturing Manager, Manufacturing Director or similar

Location:  South Yorkshire

Sector: Assembly, installation and commissioning of process plant

Salary: Very negotiable according to experience – likely to be c £50,000-£70,000

About the role :

• This is both a key strategic and operational role which will see you defining, implementing and managing world class production and manufacturing processes to an organisation involved in the assembly, testing, installation and commissioning of process plant
• You will take ultimate responsibility for ensuring that all builds are completed to time, to quality, to budget and to specification
• You will take responsibility from a people management perspective of all employees involved in assembly, testing, installation and commissioning
• As the business continues to grow, you will lead on setting up new manufacturing facilities to either be run by your employer as additional manufacturing capacity or to be run by third parties under a licensing agreement
• You will sit on the Operational Board of the business

About you :

• Degree qualified in a relevant engineering/production/manufacturing subject
• Postgraduate qualifications or professional accreditations beneficial (Chartered, MBA etc)
• Proven experience in setting up and then managing world-class production facilities
• Experience in managing the production of the process plant or bespoke special-purpose machinery involving mechanical, electrical, control systems, pressure vessels, pipework, the balance of plant etc
• Experience of scaling up production exponentially preferred
• IOSH accredited; NEBOSH preferred
• Six Sigma certified or similar lean manufacturing qualification
• A natural leader, motivator and inspirer
• Excellent commercial awareness eg payback on capital equipment investments
• First-class interpersonal skills
• Hungry to take on a Board level position
