Role will be suitable for a Clinical / Forensic or Counselling Psychologist due to gain HCPC Registration in next 6 months
Are you looking for a leadership opportunity combined with ongoing clinical experience? We are seeking a compassionate and creative individual to lead and inspire our Trauma Informed Clinical and Forensic Work.
This exciting opportunity is for a HCPC registered Clinical/ Forensic/ Counselling Psychologist. The successful applicant will manage workload within a long term rehabilitation ward consisting of working age men, demonstrating leadership skills and an ability to work with a wide variety of people. As this will be clinical and therapeutic work, it is essential that you have clinical skills and knowledge from the area of trauma as well as a developmental understanding of individuals.
You will work closely with other psychologists and be supported by an assistant psychologist allocated to the ward. Supervision skills would be beneficial, but are not an essential criteria for this role. Knowledge of trauma-informed care would be advantageous but we are able to provide training in this field in order to utilise DBT and EMDR.
This role would suit an individual with a desire to combine clinical practice whilst developing their broader leadership skills, in order to influence service delivery and to provide the highest quality of care for our patients. This is an opportunity to become a qualified trauma therapist as well as gaining further experience in trauma-informed care.
Although you will be allocated for long term male rehabilitation ward, the whole site consists of a male long term low secure ward, a male acute ward and two PICUs; one male, one female with adapted trauma informed care as well. The role may therefore extend to supporting other patients with EMDR.
Working for our organisation
You will join a team of over 20 Consultant Psychologists, and 50 registered Psychologists based across our 3 sites (Northampton, Birmingham and Essex) and our Community Partnerships division.
