The role of the Logistics Administrator is to provide dedicated admin support to the Logistical Support team based at the Defence Academy. The role is varied and covers multiple aspects across the site and will be required to build and maintain sound working relationships with several departments. This post will be utilised to provide short-notice cover to a variety of departments.
As part of this you’ll:
- Provide effective Administrative Support to the whole of the Logistics Department, to cover a Maternity Absence for 12 months
- Provide Administrative Support to the Service Families Accommodation (SFA)
- Maintain and Administer on behalf of Shrivenham Station, the Station Caravan park.
- Produce amendment and maintenance of assigned spreadsheets and databases
- Ensure that all Logistics staff have reviewed and signed, their Risk Assessments and all Logistics Work instructions are uploaded and maintained on SIDA
- Ensure that all Logistics Training records and Course completions are recorded on SIDA and the Serco LMS.
- Record, distribution and despatch of mail for the immediate area
- Ensure office is well maintained, tidy and professional at all times
- Review and update work instructions and local operating procedures on a quarterly basis
- Provide handover training to colleagues as required
- Take a pro-active role within the department to liaise with your colleagues and customers and be fully conversant with your workload
What you’ll need to do the role
- Good level of general education, with GCSE’s (A-C) or equivalent in English and Mathematics
- Previous administration experience
- Knowledge/understanding of general office practices
- PC literate, with experience in MS Office including Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint
- Be able to interact at all levels and with different cultures
- Be able to give an unremitting commitment to building sound working relationships with colleagues across the site
- Be able to work in a structured and methodical manner
- Continually seek improved and more efficient methods of working
