Pharmaceutical Manufacturer based in Greater Manchester seeks an experienced Manufacturing Engineer.
About the role:
To work as a multi-skilled engineer based in the Manufacturing area of the site, the work will involve the repair and maintenance of fast speed tablet presses and granulation machinery. To ensure that machinery is maintained to the required standard, thus ensuring maximum productivity and reduced downtime in the manufacturing, ensuring that the site runs to scheduled production plans.
Duties may include
- Repair and improve plant to achieve GMP, SHE and productivity targets
- Carry, out develop and improve the PPM for Manufacturing.
- Liaise with Production staff to identify faults and areas for improvement.
- Maintain a library of manuals to aid plant knowledge
- Work with external contract engineers to improve personal knowledge and familiarity with plant.
- To work to any permit systems defined on site.
- Keep the workshop and work areas neat and tidy to GMP.
- Store tools and spares safely and in good order.
- Participate in any continuous improvement activities deemed appropriate.
- Comply with company policies and procedures on GMP, SHE and employment with the company.
- Report any accidents, damage or incidents to management.
- Manage Manufacturing spares via visual, manual or computer systems
- Alert supervisor to low stock levels to assist ordering through Purchasing
- Maintain a flexible and proactive approach to keeping the manufacturing operation running, including extra working hours if required to see the completion of projects.
- Work as part of a team on-site to achieve company goals and objectives.
- Any other duties that can be reasonably added to this role.
Skills and experience:
- HNC, or higher.
- Completed engineering Apprenticeship
- Willingness to travel
- Trustworthiness, ability and initiative to work independently and as part of a team.
- Knowledge of high-speed tablet presses and or granulation machinery.
- Minimum two years experience of working in pharmaceutical or food environment
