About the role
Our Kerry Tenbury Wells factory in Worcestershire is one of Kerry’s Sweet & Fruit Ingredients’ main manufacturing sites.
At the facility we produce a range of fruit preparations including preserves, fillings, fruit sauces and toppings as well as chocolate, caramel and savoury sauces for yogurt, ice-cream and other dairy product manufacturers, for the baking industry and for foodservice groups.
We currently have a vacancy for a Multi-Skilled Engineer on a 12-month fixed term contract. This role is a shift role and will include working weekends.
The role of the multi-skilled engineer is to support our operations team in delivering to customers with the highest quality product, on time in full while ensuring the equipment is safe in its operation for both personnel and the product it produces.
Key responsibilities
The multi-skilled engineer is the custodian of the equipment and systems within the plant, to this end the person performing this role will be required to perform emergency response support to operations for all equipment issues, minimising downtime, and waste. You will carry out planned maintenance tasks to prevent failures of equipment during operation and bring forward improved maintenance suggestions and/or improvement initiatives to increase reliability of equipment and where possible to increase availability, improve quality and/or efficiency while at all-times ensuring safety systems is maintained or improved.
Qualifications and skills
- Time served Mechanical / Electrical or Multiskilled Apprenticeship
- Other engineering qualifications – BTEC HNC, City & Guilds or equivalent
- Multi-skilled / cross-skilled capability
- Strong diagnostic / trouble-shooting experience gained in a high-volume manufacturing or process environment
- Strong knowledge & experience of manufacturing electro/mechanical automated equipment & processes including pneumatic, hydraulic, and instrumentation-controlled systems.
- Familiar with Computerised Maintenance Management Systems
