The Role
We’re looking for a communicative and self-starting Network Administrator to support our London and Frankfurt offices. Based in London, you’ll be the primary point of contact for both offices. You’ll work with your counterparts in New York, Los Angeles and Melbourne, Australia.
Specific responsibilities include:
- 1st and 2nd level hardware and software desktop support for IBISWorld staff (with Microsoft Windows 10/11 OS, Office Products, anti-virus and other software) and ensure internal support SLAs are met.
- Ability to troubleshoot connectivity issues for on-prem and work-from-home staff
- Installation of new hardware and software and training staff on new applications
- Support (with guidance from the Global Network & Systems Manager) and make authorized changes to: physical and virtualized Microsoft Windows Servers; Windows Active Directory, Group Policy, DHCP, DNS and file-services infrastructure; Office 365 services; Azure and AWS cloud-hosted services; MFA services for VPN and cloud services; user and system backups; and monitoring and basic configuration changes on Cisco network devices
- BT Cloud/RingCentral phone system administration and support
- Communication with service providers, data centres and NOCs for reporting and follow-up of issues
- Network maintenance operations such as systems and traffic usage monitoring
- Follow-up with hardware and software vendors to resolve relevant issues
- Supporting staff with setup of required software (such as email, MFA) on smartphones
- Detailed documentation and reporting of all configuration changes and fixes that are done as required by management
- Communication to management on errors/outages, the progress of allocated tasks and recommendations of new technologies that are relevant for the organization
- Ability to support stakeholders out of hours including overseas stakeholders who may need support during weekends and overnight
- Willingness to learn new technology as the business needs change and technologies in the marketplace change
- Study and work towards Professional Certifications as per guidance from the Global Network & Systems Manager, utilizing the training and resources that IBISWorld provides
- Periodic travel to remote sites for implementations and support as required
- Any other relevant IT tasks
As a successful candidate, you will have:
- Excellent knowledge of Windows Server 2012, 2016 and 2019 platforms and services such as Active Directory, File Services, DNS, DHCP and Virtualization
- Microsoft Office 365 services skill useful.
- Basic familiarity with Azure and AWS services is useful.
- Windows 8.1, 10 & 11 clients including the latest Microsoft Office suite
- Cisco Networking & Security skills useful
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Effective time management and organizational skills as well as the ability to manage multiple and changing priorities
- Strong communication and reporting skills
- Demonstrated practical knowledge of standard computing hardware and software
- Demonstrated practical knowledge of networking, firewalls technologies and VoIP systems
- The ability to work independently with minimal supervision as well as in a team environment
- Ability to follow instructions with high attention to detail
- An interest and willingness to learn new technologies and platforms
