Principal Clinical/ Counselling/Forensic Psychologist – Suffolk, East Anglia

Indians at UK - Jobs

Location: Norfolk or Suffolk

Career Level C / NHS Band 8a / 8b

Hours: Part-Time Flexible (to be confirmed)

The Consultancy Service: Indians at UK - Jobs is a charity commissioned by the NHS to provide specialist mental healthcare for people with some of the most complex and challenging mental health needs in the UK.  The Consultancy Service specialises in taking our clinical expertise into community outpatient settings.  We, therefore, offer a variety of services both in Northampton and in London and surrounds.

The Role

Due to further expansion of the Consultancy Service, an exciting opportunity has arisen for a suitably qualified Principal Clinical, Forensic or Counselling Psychologist to lead our team working in our Community Sentence Treatment Requirement (CSTR) services. The role will be home-based, however, travel for the post is needed and a full driving licence and access to a car will be required.  Travel expenses will be reimbursed. This service specialises in delivering psychological treatment for offenders who are managed by probation officers working for the National Probation Service working across Norfolk & Suffolk. We work in partnership with NPS and a number of other providers to deliver a comprehensive rehabilitation programme to try and help offenders wanting to rebuild their lives to break the cycle of offending.

You will have experience of the Criminal Justice System and awareness of the Mental Health Treatment Requirement (MHTR). You will also have significant experience of working with offenders in a community rather than an in-patient setting and of working with partner organisations to support social as well as psychological needs. You will have an established track record of leading and inspiring teams and an established ethos of using outcome data and service user feedback to drive service development. While a travel allowance is provided within the roll, the majority of work takes place online, and travel outside of Norfolk, Suffolk & greater London is reimbursed separately.

Due to the pioneering nature of this service, there will be opportunities for service development including co-production with service users and an interest and enthusiasm in these areas is desired.

The successful applicant will join a highly motivated and friendly team and will report directly to the Lead Consultant. The role may also suit an internal applicant working at an SM2 (NHS 8b) level, or an experienced SM1 (NHS 8a) looking for progression to this grade and could be considered as a secondment opportunity from their current role.  As a CQC regulated provider of healthcare, from 1 April 2022, we will be required to ensure that all of our workforces have had both first and second COVID-19 vaccinations (except for those who can demonstrate they are medically exempt).

Reward

We offer an excellent benefits package including pension, 38 days holiday, sickness policy on par with NHS, life cover, car lease scheme, cycle to work scheme and childcare vouchers and opportunities for research, teaching and continuing professional development. For an informal discussion about this opportunity, please contact Dr James Fowler Clinical Lead for the London Transforming Rehabilitation Service via email:  or telephone on or contact James Farrelly, Senior Recruiter on or via email:

Closing date: 13th February 2022
