Delivering World-Class Products
As a QA Tester, you will test applications that makeup DWP services – from brand new applications and services to modernised legacy systems. You’ll be working collaborate with expert digital teams to determine the testability of functional and non-functional requirements.
You’ll play a key part in our Digital Debt Management team, as we look to detect and reduce fraud and error and protect our users. You’ll deliver monthly releases and business change requests, support product testing of self-service products, new debt products, our data hub and compensation recovery assets.
Day to day you will:
- Produce and execute manual test scripts and results
- Provide detailed analysis of all faults identified, and make sure they’re fixed
- Attend debt digital technical workshops where appropriate
- Utilise code control, Integration and environment management for multiple test environments
- Deliver Debt Manager application testing dependencies to help enable digital projects (e.g. Debt integration with Debt Self Service, Internal DWP products, cross-government products, inbound/outbound interfaces, etc ).
- Undertake testing of Integration Solutions to assure the required outcomes by developing case scenarios, creating and building Test cases and associated Interface files or messages using various file formats (fixed, delimited, XML) in batch or real-time using Message Queues/APIs.
- Mentor, coach and line managing junior QAs and apprentices
What skills, knowledge and experience will you need?
- Knowledge in understanding Change Requests or User Stories and testing functional and non-functional requirements to raise defects.
- The ability to demonstrate a systematic, disciplined and analytical approach, particularly in problem-solving and decision-making.
- Skilled in working flexibly within a team and a changing organisation.
- Experience in using and writing SQL to query database objects.
- Experience in developing case scenarios, creating and building test cases and associated Interface files or messages using various file formats (fixed, delimited, XML, etc).
