The Senior Design Engineer role

This role is responsible for supporting the project lead as part of a team of engineers and technicians producing design solutions for construction.  You will have an ability to manage a small team of graduate engineers and technicians and to deliver well considered, quality designs solutions in a manner which upholds the Visions and Values of the Company.

You will be expected to use your Engineering, time / cost awareness and practical and technical knowledge to deliver design solutions that meet our contractual obligations, recognise current legislation, standards and codes of practice, prepare construction methodology and buildability, and ensure are of the right quality and are delivered to meet the proposed procurement and construction programmes.

Your profile

  • You will ideally be a Chartered Engineer with either ICE, IStruct-E or Institution of Geologists as appropriate
  • You’ll have extensive post graduate experienced working as a Design Engineer.
  • You will have some experience in the nuclear industry in order to be able to perform detailed design calculations within the nuclear design group based in Knutsford, Cheshire.
  • You will be a motivated individual with a keen interest in structural, civil or geotechnical engineering and an appreciation of architecture.  An interest in temporary works design would be considered desirable.
