The Trading Infrastructure DevOps Team is seeking to add several self-directed, self-motivated, and curious members to our team of engineers, architects, operators, and portfolio managers building and operating one of the largest, most successful trading operations in the world.
The Specialized Electronic Trading Infrastructure Team is seeking to add a Senior Linux System Engineer to our Low-Latency platform engineering team. This addition is part of large expansion of our capabilities across the world supporting the firm’s agency and principle trading businesses. Candidates must be highly skilled with hands-on-keyboard experience working with RedHat Linux and the protocols and the overall Linux ecosystem.
Responsibilities –
- You will work with the Algo application development team and members of the business to enhance, maintain, and improve on existing solutions as well as collaborate with peers across company technology and industry experts to identify, design, and implement new solutions to enhance our capabilities.
- You must be capable of drafting clear and concise technical documentation and verbally communicate abstract ideas and concepts as well as discrete technical implementations to engineering and operational peers as well as application development teams.
Skills
- Red Hat Enterprise Linux
- Linux Performance Tuning
- Cloud provider experience: AWS or Azure
- Scripting experience; Python, Perl, GoLang, other shell scripting
- Network Stack, NFS, DNS, LDAP, SFTP/FTP, NTP
- Knowledge of unicast and multicast protocols over ethernet or InfiniBand networks
- Working with GIT and enterprise source control systems* Knowledge of the kickstart process
- Security and performance monitoring and analysis
- Virtualization or Containers (VMware and/or Kubernetes)
- Automation / Configuration management (Ansible / Chef / Puppet preferred)
- Server hardware (Dell, Lenovo, Intel, AMD, Solarflare, Xilinx)
- Network hardware (Cisco, Arista, A10, F5)
- Firewalls (Fortinet)
- Firm understanding of storage and networking components
- Minimum 5 years comparative industry experience is required; 7+ years preferred

Beneficial Skills
- Experience working in with trading technology in a financial services environment
- Experience with FPGA and/or ARM
- Familiarity of with FPGA development and lifecycle tools (Vivado, Quartus etc)
- Familiarity with high level synthesis and FPGA debugging
- Familiarity with MIT Kerberos application within enterprise Linux environments
- IP tables principles and Kernel-Bypass
- High-accuracy time synchronization methods
