Our client is an incredible scientific organisation, who are using world-leading technology to make truly groundbreaking transformative changes. The organisation are embarking on a period of rapid expansion and therefore, you will join at a time where you can help shape the organisation. Our client is looking to appoint an experienced project manager to build and lead a world-class project management function. The role requires a “player-manager”, equally adept at rolling up their sleeves to lead by example as well as provide strategic input on the design and implementation of key processes. You will be accountable for ensuring that the scientific and technical projects are translated into operational plans, implemented effectively and completed successfully in support of strategic goals.

The responsibilities of the Senior Project Manager include:

  • Lead the provision of project management support throughout the life cycle of programmes, from planning and initiation through execution and successful completion.
  • Establish and implement processes for creating project plans which capture clear project timelines and milestones against targeted outcomes as well as the resource requirements necessary to deliver a successful outcome.
  • Work with all stakeholders to ensure alignment on project scope, deliverables and resources through effective use of project tools
  • Design and implement appropriate project initiation, monitoring and reporting processes.
  • Ensure all project reporting requirements to internal and external stakeholders are fulfilled.

The following experience and qualifications would be hugely beneficial:

  • Strong technical understanding of research & development gained within the life-sciences sector
  • Significant experience in successful project delivery
  • Comfortable with accountability and tenacious in delivery
  • Proven ability to solve problems and adapt plans in the face of changing circumstances
  • Strong leadership and management skills; managing cross-functional teams with internal and external relationships
  • Educated to at least BSc degree – Life Science subject strongly preferred
  • 3 – 7 years of Project management experience – ideally in the Bioscience sector
  • Formal qualification(s) in project management
