Overview

Our UK-based IT team is looking for an ambitious, forward-thinking software engineer to help us develop innovative solutions across our software products, in all aspects of the product lifecycle – from product inception to production delivery. This is a great opportunity for an engineer who is interested in exploring software technologies throughout the full stack and contributing to delivering business-critical applications for our customers and business users. Responsibilities

Specific Responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

  • Collaborate with technical and business colleagues for requirements gathering, development and testing of changes.
  • Assists with the analysis of requirements and estimation effort for development.
  • Create and present visual and detailed design proposals to team and technical leads.
  • Use software engineering experience to maintain operational processes and applications; resolve production issues promptly in conjunction with local first-line support team and local development team.
  • Deadline and delivery focused
  • Assist with the identification and implementation of opportunities to automate or streamline existing processes to simplify maintenance activities and improve overall reliability and efficiency.
  • Assist with the creation and maintenance of product documentation for existing and new applications.
  • Manage own workload independently, seeking guidance from UK-based manager when needed.
  • Protect our customers, our employees, and our brands by incorporating security and compliance in all decisions and daily job responsibilities; follow security policies and procedures.

Qualifications:

  • Good communication skills
  • .NET / SQL web applications and web services engineering.
  • Standard .NET framework (.NET 4.7 and .NET Core)
  • Experience with technologies such as C# .NET, XML, RESTful services, JSON, React, material-ui, Entity Framework
  • Azure would be beneficial
  • Experience of T-SQL, SQL Server

Desirable:

  • Exposure to QA practices such as unit testing, peer testing, defect fixing and tracking to resolution.
  • Worked in an Agile software development team.
  • A Bachelor’s degree and minimum of one year of related experience. We also welcome applications with an equivalent combination of education and experience (such as a relevant placement or internship)

ABOUT THE TEAM:

We offer a hybrid model of full-time remote working, partial office-based or a mixture of both.

ABOUT THE LOCATION:

This is a permanent role in the European IT team based in Egham, Surrey, though can be performed remotely from any UK location. Egham sits on the Berkshire/Surrey border and can be found just off the M25. There are also great public transportation links to local areas such as Reading and London. If remote working is chosen, the successful candidate will be expected to travel to the Egham office at own expense approximately once a quarter in addition to any specific events as agreed in advance.
