UK increases salary requirement to £38,700
James Cleverly, the interior minister, defined the changes in the House of Commons, disclosing that there has to be an increase in the salary of foreign workers who are looking for work visas in the UK. He said the salary must be increased to £38,700 from the previous £26,000. This expressed that the UK government has aimed to decrease net annual immigration to 300,000 in the coming years.
Restriction on Overseas Care workers
The UK government also highlighted the condition of overseas care workers, preventing foreign workers from bringing family dependents to the UK. The UK government has also aimed to remove the 20% salary discount that companies can offer foreigners on the shortage occupation list.
