Workday Lead Analyst
The Workday Team supports the HR and Finance functions and the successful candidate will perform a range of responsibilities as a key member of the Workday Product team.
The Workday Lead Analyst role will be required to understand and analyse user and report needs ensuring alignment with business strategy. They will define business, system and user requirements to support both projects and continuous improvement driven change activity. The Analyst will be required to identify tools that support improved system governance, impact assess options, configure, test and deploy solutions to ensure effective operational support. They will also configure system updates, fixes and implement new functionality. The ideal candidate will facilitate collaboration and lead effective communication with all stakeholders to support design, build and delivery to meet user needs. They will be self-motivated, have strong experience of working within ideally both Workday HCM and Finance modules to analyse, configure and improve processes.
Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:
*Requirements gathering – Run requirements gathering workshops with HR and Finance teams and end-users, determining the need and value of performing the activity based on the context. Document requirements & business process flows.
*Undertake Process Modelling (as-is and to-be business processes) – mapping where components can be delivered by Workday and other systems by working with wider systems stakeholders.
*System Analysis – Coordinate the work of systems analysis to ensure business needs are translated into solutions against identified timelines, and work with technical leads to ensure business needs are translated into the technical solutions.
*Apply advanced Workday knowledge to lead and support various implementation and improvement projects
*Prepare documents to be presented for additional functionality and impacts.
*Manage and perform the execution of system changes (updates, integrations, new configurations) and participate in all aspects of system testing.
*Monitor operational support queries being raised, resolve where possible or liaise with technical 3rd party product and support teams.
*Collaborate with functional and technical stakeholders to optimize business processes
*Design Workday reports focused on utility, visual presentation, and ease of interpretation for the end user.
*Manage the review, impact analysis and implementation of the bi-annual Workday release cycle
*Deliver Products, Tools, and Documentation – Ensure the delivery of change is made against a fully auditable process by producing required documentation as per framework e.g. application of methodologies; functional specification; user cases; user stories; UAT plans and strategy; entry/exit and /or no/no go criteria; defect analysis; forms and templates; guidance; business case.
Person Specification:
Qualifications:
Essential –
*Educated to degree level in a relevant discipline or equivalent experience
*Workday certifications minimum of 2 (in HCM, Benefits, Recruitment, Financials, Talent, Absence, Payroll, Procurement)
Desirable –
*Business Analysis Qualification e.g. BCS International Diploma in Business Analysis or equivalent
*Prince 2 Foundation or Practitioner
*Agile Foundation or Practitioner
Essential –
*Workday (advanced) design and configuration experience, preferably in a senior SME role
*Extensive knowledge in workday reports and MI functionality
*Worked on at least 2 end-to-end project lifecycle major Workday implementations
*Experience in Business Analysis – gap analysis for process improvements and articulation of requirements
*Specialist data skills and the clear, proven capability to bring together MI from Workday that is accurate and timely which can provide meaningful insight to Senior Stakeholders and team members
*Experience of creating and optimising Dashboards and building reports from scratch when required to do so
*A capable communicator able to operate effectively at all levels within a corporate environment
*Excellent written communication skills, including a good working knowledge of MS Office packages (i.e. Word, Excel, PowerPoint etc)
*Experience in a project environment, supporting the development of project objectives
*Supporting Workday in an operational BAU environment
*Experience of engaging with stakeholders to develop project requirements
*Experience of developing business cases, and undertaking impact assessments for Workday requirements
*Ability to engage with senior stakeholders to identify needs, breakdown business problems and offer solutions
Desirable:
*The ability to define the fundamental components of a project in terms of its scope, deliverables, time scales, resource requirements and budget. It also includes the production of broader plans incorporating risk and quality to provide a consolidated overview of a project
*The ability to systematically identify and monitor risks & issues, planning how to mitigate / respond to those risks and issues and implementing the responses
*The ability to plan, develop, maintain, and apply quality management processes to ensure the adherence to those standards throughout the project delivery lifecycle
